This studying stuff appears to be a never-ending battle. I
continue to prepare for the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in
Occupational Therapy) exam. I finally have a date scheduled; however I am not
disclosing it. I don’t want to have the extra and/or added stress of everyone
knowing when I will be at the testing center. I will tell you now that it will be in the next few
weeks and I will let everyone know when I get the results. I have been spending
2 or more hours a day studying. Some days are more productive than others, but
I continue to plug away at it.
Other good news I got today. As part of my graduation
requirements I had to put together a research project. I did this with three
other girls. It was a long grueling process and took hours of work to put
together. Our project: Accessible School Based Playgrounds in Rural Communities
for Children in Wheelchairs, was very interesting and I am glad to have been a
part of it. Well on our behalf our research chair submitted an application to
the AOTA committee for the National AOTA (American Occupational Therapy
Association) Conference in San Diego, CA in April 2013. The research project I
was apart of has been accepted as part of a presentation series at the
conference. Now, the two playground research groups have the opportunity to go
to the AOTA conference and present our project.
How Exciting!!!!!
But for now it’s back to the books to get some more studying
done. This exam prep is very time consuming.
